Ministries of Faith Bible Fellowship
At this stage in the life of our church, FBF has intentionally limited the number of ministries oriented toward believers and their families so that we can focus our energies on building relationships and reaching out into our community with the good news of Jesus Christ. In time we plan to develop broader and deeper ministries of discipleship and Christian nurture for our own church family.
Corporate Worship 10 am Sunday mornings
We gather together on Sunday mornings at 10 am for
corporate worship. Services are typically 75-90 minutes in
duration. Our worship service is family oriented—we
highly encourage children and teens to participate with
their parents. Our goal is to design a worship service that
fosters a multi-generational, personal and corporate
expression of worship that engages both the heart and
mind as we glorify the Lord.
A Nursery for infants and toddlers ages birth to 2 years is
provided on site. An optional Children’s Church for ages
2 1/2 to 7 is also provided. Children should attend the
first part of the worship service with their parents and will
be dismissed to go with their teachers before the sermon
begins. Parents are also welcome keep their younger
children with them during the sermon.
Fellowship Brunch
Fellowship Brunch is scheduled the 2nd Sunday of each month following the worship service.
Communion
We observe the Lord’s Supper during our Worship Service on the first Sunday of each month.
Our Ministry Model
Our purpose, as individual believers and as a church is to bring glory to
God by declaring through our words and our lives the preeminence of
Jesus Christ.
We believe that God has revealed in Scripture three general activities of
the church (individual believers and local congregations) that fulfill this
purpose and define our work:
1. Ministry to God: Our Worship (Col 3:16-17; Eph 1:12; 5:15-21;
Rom 12:1-2)
2. Ministry to Believers: Edification and Nurture (Col 1:28;
Eph 4:11-16)
3. Ministry to the Lost: Disciplemaking and Ministries of Mercy
(Matt 28:19-20; 1 John 3:17; Luke 6:35-36)
As God exists in perfect balance and harmony with Himself, one God in
three Persons, so we individually and as a church should seek the same
balance in purpose and life.
Ministry to God: Worship
Paul tells us that we are to do everything for the glory of God (1 Cor 10:31).
Many believers think of worship only in terms of a time of music and song on
Sunday morning. But the Scripture sees every aspect of our lives as an act of
worship. Some of the specific ways we worship and bring God glory in the
church and as individual believers include: praise and thanksgiving, living
sacrificially, joyfully and honorably, keeping good repute among unbelievers,
proclaiming the excellencies of Christ, praying for each other, unity, love,
purity, serving each other, submission to our leaders, abstaining from fleshly
lusts, discernment, hospitality, stewardship and generosity (Eph 1:1-14; Col
1:8; Heb 13:15-18; 1 Pet 2:9-12; 4:7-11; Phil 1:3-10; 2:1-10; 2 Cor 2:11-12).
Ministry to Believers: Edification & Nurture
Edification and Nurture are the ministries of the local church that are directed
at presenting every believer, young and old, mature in Christ (Col 1:28).
Some Biblical characteristics include: unity among believers, exercising
spiritual gifts for the good of the body, knowledge of Christ, solid doctrine,
speaking the truth in love, discernment, spiritual convictions, a Biblical world
view, demonstrating the “fruit of the Spirit”, prayer and thanksgiving,
witnessing, serving , abstaining from evil and admonishing one another (Eph
4:1-16; 1 Thes 5:11-22; 1 Cor 14:20-26; Acts 2:42-47; James 2; Acts 6;
Gal 6:2; Heb 11:24).
Ministry to the Lost: Disciplemaking and Mercy
God has a heart for the lost and desires that they repent and turn to Him
(2 Pet 3:9). He also cares for widows, orphans, the repressed and victims of
injustice (Isa 58:6-7). Individual believers and local churches are to be agents
of God’s love and compassion, ambassadors for Christ, witnesses, evangelists,
merciful, prophetic forthtellers, advocates and defenders of the helpless; loving
people who proclaim Christ at every opportunity through holy lives and
persuasive words (Matt 28:18-20; Lk 24:45-49; 1 Pet 2:12, 3:1; 1 Jn 4:7-12;
Acts 4:32-35).
